Elite Quarters of Bulgarian Capital Buried in Trash after Christmas

The dumpsters in the Vitosha administrative district of the Bulgarian capital Sofia are overfilled with trash after Christmas Day.

The trash in the elite quarters Boyana, Dragalevtsi, and Simeonovo, which are in the Vitosha district has not been removed, and their residents have complained to the Sofia Municipality.

The concessionaire for the Vitosha district is the Titan firm. According to Veska Georgieva, head of the Sofia Municipality Inspectorate, the residents can complain if they are sure that the concessionaire has not removed the trash on time under its respective schedule.

Georgieva has told Darik Radio that the piling of trash most likely result from the fact that the households have accumulated lots of waste during the holidays while the concessionaire is not supposed to collect the garbage in those quarters every single day. She has promised a municipality inspection into the issue.
