Bulgarian Scientists Develop Miniature Robot Football Teams

Bulgarian scientists are currently developing football teams of miniature robots, Roman Zahariev, from the Central Laboratory of Mechatronics and Instrumentation, stated in Varna Thursday.

The project involves group working robots and is being is implemented in partnership with the Technical University of Vienna.

Scientists from the Varna laboratory, which is funded by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAN), is working with a Japanese company to develop a robot type CKARA, Zahariev added.

The Bulgarian specialists’ last invention was a robot used in the manufacture of aluminum profiles. The machine is two-handed, and its construction cost approximately 100 000 BGN. It is used in the treatment of blanks in kilns.

Zahariev said that the robot is already used in a Bulgarian company, but has received great interest from foreign companies.

The advantage of modern technology was the main theme of the Day of robotics on Thursday, which was held today at the Technical University in Varna. The forum brought together scientists and students from various areas of the country.
