Unknown criminals have robbed a bank branch and the Mayor’s office in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort village Sveti Vlas early Monday morning.

The robbed branch of the Central Cooperative Bank is located on the first floor of the Mayor’s Office building. The police in the town of Nessebar were alerted about the robbery at 5:30 am on Monday by the security firm of the bank.

The investigators found that the robbers broke in through a door on the first floor, and stole the metal safe containing BGN 42 000, EUR 2 100, USD 540, and GBP 160.

After robbing the bank, the criminals went through all the rooms in the Mayor’s Office on the second and third floors of the building. They stole BGN 500 from the Administrative Registration office, BGN 500 and EUR 500 from the “Local Taxes” Office, and BGN 2 500 from the Mayor’s Office accountants.

This is the third brazen robbery in Bulgaria in less than 24 hours after robbers stole BGN 2 M from a hypermarket and BGN 50 000 from a mobile phones store in Sofia in two separate hits on Monday.
