Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov has stated that the center-right GERB government will want a mandate from all of the Parliamentary groups to adopt any plan to accept Guantanamo Bay prisoners from the US.

"There is European and NATO solidarity. Just like them we seek support for everything from our Euro-Atlantic partners, President Obama is now seeking this from all of us," Borisov told reporters. "My personal opinion is that we should accept one person," he added.

Earlier Saturday Bulgaria Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, confirmed that Bulgaria has held talks with the US regarding accepting former prisoners of "Guantanamo Bay" on its territory.

Meanwhile, Borisov pointed out that there is no way "to solve problems of prison guards, policemen, doctors, teachers, and farmers and for everyone else in a few months after they had not been solved in the last 20 years,” in reaction to Saturday’s police protests.

He concluded by saying that after the Belene NPP project is restructured and there is a clear financial framework, investors will be interested.
