The Bulgarian Socialist Party has accused the new center-right GERB government of draining state enterprises to collect revenue for the 2010 budget.

As an example the BSP pointed to the government’s dealings with Bulgartabac, Air Traffic Control and and the Bulgarian Energy Holding.

BSP Leader stated sarcastically that such things didn’t even happen when Ivan Kostov, the current Blue Coalition Co-Chair, was Prime Minister.

Former PM Stanishev said that under his government in the first six months of 2009 BGN 13 B were collected in revenue while only BGN 11,5 B has been collected in the second half of 2009. He concluded that although the global financial crisis was partly to blame, the Finance Minister Simeon Djankov should take responsibility for not keeping his promises.
