Bulgaria Police Seize 8 Tons of Alcohol from Karnobat Houses

Nearly 8 tons of alcohol has been seized from two private homes in South East Bulgaria’s Karnobat, local police reported Thursday.

In a raid early Thursday by the regional Interior Minsitry inspectors and the local police signs of illegal manufacture of alcoholic beverages were discovered.

In the first house, owned by a 52-year-old man, large amounts of different alcohols, glycerin and oak extract was confiscated along with various types of plastic and glass bottles, and accessories for bottling.

In the second house, inhabited by 65-year-old man from Burgas, policemen discovered large quantities of concentrated alcohol. His son was also charged with alcohol related offenses on June 29

According to the police the alcohol was sold illegally in shops in Burgas and the central market in Karnobat. Both men have been charged and are awaiting trial.
