Bulgaria and Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov’s personal manager, Emil Danchev, has denied the UK and Bulgarian tabloid reports suggesting that the Bulgaria mafia has threatened the striker’s family.
"It is below my level to comment on such tabloid rumours. This is misinformation that was published in a Bulgarian newspaper sometime ago and has now been re-printed in England. I think that it is below the dignity of all to believe such sources.” Danchev stated.

According to UK and Bulgarian tabloid reports Tuesday local Bulgarian Mafia bosses in Sofia contacted Berbatov's mother, Margarita, 10 days ago to tell her that the family was in danger if the Manchester United star did not pay a GBP 500 000 protection fee.
