The wild attack against the Bulgarian Socialist Party on part of the ruling GERB and the whole right is continuing, and PM Borisov has devoted himself to “caveman’s anticommunism”.

This has been stated in the major report of the Left Wing of the BSP during Sunday’s national conference of the “more leftist” members of the left party.

The Left Wing also warns that it is not going to stand idly by while the threat presented by Borisov’s authoritarian government is growing.

The leftists have also slammed their own party, the BSP, saying the party life boiled down to excursions around the country in which the top functionaries ask the locals how they wre doing. They are concerned that the Socialist Party has no organizational and political life and it major organizations consist mostly of old and sick people.

The Left Wing report also contains hint about manipulations over the election of the BSP leadership, and insist on the holding of a new congress with new delegates that should take place well in advance of the 2011 local elections. The BSP Chair and former PM, Sergey Stanishev was reelected in the emergency part congress in October 2009 summon over the election loss in July.

The leftists believe that Stanishev is responsible before the party for the election loss but not before the new PM Borisov for the condition in which his three-way coalition government left the country.

The Left Wing reelected its leader, MP Yanaki Stoilov, with 101 votes out of 103 voting delegates.

Stoilov has declared the Left Wing had to unite the leftist and democratic forces within the BSP.

The Left Wing has sent a letter to the National Council of the party condemning the violations allowed during the election of the party Executive Bureau on October 31, 2009.

The analysis of the current situation in Bulgaria of the Left Wing was completed with a quote by its long time informal leader Alexander Lilov – “the future of socialism lies with the socialism of the future.”
