The National Council of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) has demanded emergency government measures to guarantee the survival of the country’s industry sector.

The Association has insisted that the government restore any terminated or delayed payments to businesses under the EU operational programs or under for state public procurement orders.

It also wants measures to boost export-oriented Bulgarian businesses, which has been hit hardest by the crisis, and which should be similar to those of other EU countries.

On Thursday, the BICA admitted six new members: Branimir Handzhiev, member of the governing council of the Albena Invest Holding Jsc; Galina Tosheva, CEO of the Bulgarian Energy Holding; Dimitar Hristov, Chair of the Entrepreneurs’ Association in the town of Gotse Delchev; Kamen Filyov, Chair of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber on electronic industry and computer science; Martin Batkov, representative of VoiceCom Jsc, and Pavel Petrov, representative of the Bulgarian Postal Union.
