Bulgaria Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov, has dismissed 28 directors of the regional ‘Agriculture’ departments over corruption and ‘theft’ of state property.
When Naydenov announced the sackings he also had a few words for the new directors of the Departments saying that he hoped they would not be involved in thefts like their predecessors.
Naydenov said that after he had ordered a thorough check on the departments he was shocked of the shameful abuse of power he had discovered. He added that all of the cases had been handed over to the Prosecuto’s Office for investigation.
Naydenov concluded that “it is not a political move and stated that all deals signed by the directors that are found to be illegal will be declared null and void. He did not declare what the deals contained but hinted that the infamous land swap saga was involved.
