Bulgarian actor Samuel Finzii is the new star of both public TV channels in Germany - ARD and ZDF, with two productions starring him beginning this week.

The German press has also greeted the new reincarnations of the 43-year-old actor with acclaim. Finzi, who has worked and lived in Germany since the beginning of the 90s, has received positive critical evaluation of his theater and cinema roles, Dnevnik reports.

Finzi is the main hero in the crime series "Fleming" which starts on ZDF at peak time Friday. Claudia Michelsen plays his partner, the chief of the police commission for investigating murders.

The film is about the crime psychologist Dr.Vincent Fleming who, while not solving crime cases is a radio host of "The Tricks of the Soul".

Coincidentally, Finzi and Michelsen are partners in "Seven Days", an ARD production, also to be aired this week. In this family drama, the Bulgarian actor goes under the skin of the average citizen Henry Fischer, husband to Marlis (Michelsen). The pair are on the verge of divorce when, one day, their 15-year-old daughter Lilly disappears without trace, and the father is unjustly accused of having had an affair with her under-age friend.

"Double Thrill" was the headline of the review of German paper Berliner Morgenpost, which concentrated on the psychological impact of "Seven Days". The weekly Teleshow magazine published an interview with Finzi where it presented him as "an immensely expressive theater actor, capable of going beyond limits".

"Yes, sometimes I can go beyond the limits of the game. It has already happened to me that I cannot come back. Now this sounds a bit of pathos; of course you can come back. But sometimes a speed, an insanity grabs you, into which I have to rush,” the actor said.

“In the theater you take your own decisions, while in the film, I depend on circumstances, my own material is being processed.", Finzi stated. He once expressed his attitude in an interview for Dnevnik, explaining that "I have always done what I wanted to do, and not what I had to do."
