The New York Yankees have triumphed over the Philadelphia Phillies winning their 27th title in the US Major League Baseball World Series.

Late Wednesday night Eastern US Time, the Yankees beat the Phillies 7:3 in Game 6 of the World Series final on the new Yankee Stadium in front of over 50 000 people. They won the US Major League Baseball World Series final with four wins vs. two games for the Phillies.

The Japanese batter of the Yankees Hideki Matsui drove in six runs tying Bobby Richardson’s 1960 record for RBI in a Series game. He was named the World Series MVP.

With their triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Yankees secured their first World Series title in nine years.
