Bulgaria Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, has announced that GERB will fully declassify all contracts that have been made between the Bulgarian government and private companies.

Djankov, speaking at a business meeting in Sofia, stated that contracts concluded by the previous government ministries were won by the only candidates in auctions that were meant to be open to all. He added that “I was even surprised by the orders for pens and stationery.”

Djankov continued that, the secret deal made by former Finance Minister, Plamen Oresharski, and the Central Bank Governor Ivan Iskrov for depositing about 14% of the fiscal reserve into commercial banks, was indicative of how the previous socialist led government ran the country.

He concluded that his team has been working for three days on the study of all the contracts that were made by the previous Finance Ministry and then hidden from the public.
