Bulgaria PM: Kidnappers Should Receive 30 Years in Jail

Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov has proposed that the punishment for should be 30 years in prison.

Borisov stated that “these people should not be left to return to the streets again”. He added that if the victims are injured or killed a life sentence for the kidnappers is the only option.

Borisov said that the new Kidnapping Act is now ready. It has been prepared by the Interior Ministry and will be presented later Friday, PRO.BG TV reported. He added that when he visited London as Chief Secretary of the Bulgarian Interior Ministry in 2004, Scotland Yard told him “to get ready for abductions following the killings.”

According to Borisov the UK police register 85-86 kidnappings every month. He concluded “Crime has its fashions and development.”

Meanwhile, the body of a 44-year-old man, thought to have been kidnapped has been discovered Friday near the Vladaya River by the Sofia-Pernik road.
