Bulgaria’s Transport Minister, Alexander Tsvetkov, has fired Anton Ginev, Executive Director of the heavily indebted National Company "Railway Infrastructure" (NKZI).

The state-owned NKZI is in a deplorable financial state. On Monday, the trade unions of the railroad workers threatened massive strikes if the company continued to delay their salaries each month.

Tsvetkov has appointed Milcho Lambrev to replace Ginev as Director of the NKZI. Lambrev is a graduate of the Transport University in Sofia. He has assumed various positions at both NKZI and the other state-owned railway company BDZ.

Two weeks ago, Minister Tsvetkov fired the BDZ Director Hristo Monov, and replaced him with Pencho Popov.
