Nielsen: Bulgaria Online Audience Shows Steady Growth

Bulgarian online market audiences have shown a consistent year-on-year growth across all the categories, shows data of leading market tracker Nielsen Online, which stepped in the country at the beginning of last year.

“This is good news, and should attract a lot of attention from the advertisers,” Diego Semprun, Senior Director Commercial Development at Nielsen Online, commented in an interview for Novinite.com.

“The industry in Bulgaria has been struck by the crisis, but keeps an impressive forward momentum, as the recent movements on the associative field show, “ Semprun pointed out.

He stressed that the advertisers in Bulgaria still have a long way to go to understand that the audience has moved to the new media, and that they must to follow it if they want to be successful.

Nielsen Online, a service of the Nielsen Company, signed at the end of February 2008 a contract to measure Bulgarian Internet audience data. The step was widely seen as a key development of the online market in the country, bringing a common audience measurement currency and much needed transparency to the market.

“We believe that we brought a fantastic level of transparency, and from our feedback from the agencies it’s being widely used,” said Diego Semprun.
