Wanted Swedish Criminal Arrested on Bulgaria Border

A 40-year-old Swedish citizen has been arrested in Bulgaria at the Turkish border after INTERPOL had issued a warrant for his arrest.

Bulgarian police arrested the Swedish man at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing on suspicions of money laundering and drugs crimes, thelocal.se reported.

Officials from Sweden’s foreign ministry have confirmed the arrest and stated that the Swedish embassy in Sofia said that they had been in touch with the man.

At the time of his arrest, the man was attempting to cross from Bulgaria into Turkey while driving a truck, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry reported.
