An 8-year-old Bulgarian girl who became the victim of a pedophile attack has provided the police with information which is expected to lead shortly to the capture of a man believed to be the Sofia syringe stabber.
The attack took place in the village of Vedrare near the town of Karlovo in central Bulgaria. The girl was sitting on a bench in front of her apartment building when a yellow Mercedes pulled over, and a tall blond man about 45-50 years of age came to her, the Plovdiv newspaper Maritsa reported.
The man told the girl he was from the electricity provider, and asked her to show him the electric control panel of the building. When the girl took him there, the man showed her a syringe, and threatened to stab her. After that he took down her pants, bit her on her buttocks, and ran away.
However, the girl managed to memorize the license plate number of his car, and gave it to the police.
According to unofficial information of dir.bg, the man is a resident of the capital Sofia, and is expected to be arrested shortly.
Bulgaria’s police have been searching for a “Syringe Maniac”, who has attacked over ten young children in Sofia by stabbing them.
Unofficial sources said a suspect had already been detained but had been released over lack of evidence. Police experts have said that the stabber was a pedophile who did not aim to infect the children with any kind of disease or virus.
None of the victims have been found to have developed any complications as a result of the syringe maniac’s attacks.
