Bulgaria Include Leicester Defender Tunchev in World Cup Squad

Bulgaria coach, Stanimir Stoilov, has recalled Leicester City defender Alexander Tunchev to the Bulgaria's squad to play World Cup 2010 qualifiers against Cyprus and Georgia.

Bulgaria are to set play a difficult away game in Cyprus on October 10 followed by Georgia in Sofia on October 14. They must win both games if they are to keep their slim hopes of qualifying alive.

Stoilov is counting on Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov to lead Bulgaria's attack along with Manchester City's Martin Petrov and Valeri Bojinov who recently moved to Parma.

Italy leads Bulgaria’s group with 20 points, and Ireland is second with 16. Bulgaria has 11 points.

Squad (overseas players only):

Goalkeepers: Dimitar Ivankov (Bursaspor), Nikolay Mihaylov (Twente Enschede).

Defenders: Stanislav Manolev (PSV Eindhoven), Alexandar Tunchev (Leicester City).

Midfielders: Stilian Petrov (Aston Villa), Stanislav Angelov (Energie Cottbus), Blagoy Georgiev (Terek Grozny), Chavdar Yankov (Duisburg), Martin Petrov (Manchester City).

Strikers: Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United), Dimitar Rangelov (Borussia Dortmund), Valeri Domovchiyski (Hertha Berlin), Valeri Bojinov (Parma).
