Over 4 000 Bulgarian farmers face bankruptcy due to the low milk purchase prices, the Milk Producers Association in the city of Stara Zagora alarms

The current milk purchase prices of BGN 0,60 per liter do not allow farmers to buy food for the animals, pay the electric and water bills, the salaries of the people helping them and meet their household expenses, the milk producers say Sunday.

The farmers further complain that the EU SAPARD agriculture funds do not reach them, because they end with the big companies and demand BGN 0,30 in State subsidy for a liter of milk.
