Chicago and Tokyo were eliminated from the 2016 Olympics race by the International Olympic Committee Friday night.
Chicago was eliminated in the very first round of the voting taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, despite the endorsement that it got from US President Barack Obama, a long-time Chicago resident.
Tokyo got knocked out in the second round, the BBC reported.
Only Madrid and Rio de Janeiro remain in the race. The final result is expected to be clear after 6:30 pm CET (7:30 pm EET).
