Bulgaria Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov, has backed Romania’s candidate for the post of European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development.
Naydenov stated; "We are…interested in the agriculture portfolio being given to our neighbor state as we share similar problems in this sector."
Romania's former Agriculture Minister, Dacian Ciolos, is the country’s candidate for the Commissioner position. According to Romania PM Emil Boc, Ciolos can also count on the support of France, Germany and Poland in his bid.
The current holder of the post is Mariann Fischer Boel, a Danish politician, who served as the country’s Agriculture Minister under the current UN chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen, when he was the Danish PM.
