The prices of the mobile phone communication in Bulgaria may go down by 20 to 30% starting July 2010.

This has been forecasted Friday by the chair of the Communications Regulation Commission, Veselin Bozhkov.

The reason for the drastic change in the end users prices will be the decrease of the wholesale prices. Until July 2010 the wholesale price should go down to EUR 0,06 per minute, as in most of the European Union member states.

The commission cannot dictate the prices on the free retail market, but if the whole sale prices decrease from current levels (BGN 0,17-0,2) to BGN 0,1-0,13, that will affect the final prices, Bozhkov said.

In his word, all the mobile operators that do not introduce the unified signal that warns the customers that they number they are dialing has been transferred to another operator, will be fined BGN 10 000 a week. The signal will be 3 seconds long, and will be used until the service of transferring numbers is completely developed in Bulgaria.

The commission has also proposed numerous changes in the procedures of transferring and keeping the number, in order to make it easier and quicker for the clients. The transfer will be free of charge, and the deadlines will be shorter.
