Road Rage Victim in Bulgaria Burgas Shot Three Times

The victim of the road rage fight at noon on Sunday in Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Burgas was shot three times, one of which fatal.

The results of the initial investigation, including reports of the medical examinations and autopsy, have showed that there was no way the 24-year-old Kaloyan Stoyanchov, aka Rizhia (Red Haired) was saved.

Road rage over taking the right of way was the reason for the shooting, Darik radio reports.

Four individuals travelling in a car stopped and surrounded a man on a motorbike, after the latter failed to yield the right of way. The biker became terrified, took out a gun he legally owned, and shot one of the four people.

The victim, Kaloyan Stoyanchov, was a well-known underworld figure in Burgas with a long rap sheet including beatings, harassment of neighbors and illegal gun ownership.

The shooter is reported as 39-year old former police employee, Petko Lisichkov. He is behind bars for 24 hours.

According to specialist from the police investigation office, Lisichkov acted in self-defense.

Moreover, the public opinion in the city of Burgas shows strong support for the former policemen.
