Bulgarian Facebook members and the women from the nationalist VMRO party are organizing a rally in a show of support for Bulgarian citizen Spaska Mitrova.

The meeting will begin at 6 pm Monday in front of the Macedonian Embassy in Sofia.

On September 4th, Macedonia's President, Gjorge Ivanov, refused to pardon the 23-year-old Mitrova, who is held behind bars in Macedonia. On Monday, Bulgaria's Minister without Portfolio for Bulgarians Abroad, Bozhidar Dimitrov, confirmed for the Bulgarian National Radio that all possibilities of the cabinet to influence the Macedonian side have been exhausted.

The VMRO leader, Krasimir Karakachanov, announced that Mitrova's mother is arriving in Bulgaria Monday on the invitation of the VMRO women, adding thousands of BGN have already been deposited in the bank account opened by his party in support of Mitrova.

Also on September 4, VMRO called for imposing a veto on Macedonia's NATO accession over Mitrova's case.
