Due to difficult traffic conditions over the flash floods in Turkey numerous buses and trains have been canceled Thursday.

The Bulgarian State Railroads (BDZ) announced that the "Balkan Express" train between Sofia and Istanbul, along with the bus transfer of the train passengers between Kapukule and Istanbul, have been temporary canceled.

The disastrous situation in Turkey also triggered numerous cancellations of trips by Bulgarian tour operators - regular bus routes as well as excursions to Istanbul.

Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry renewed Thursday its warning for Bulgarians not to travel to Northern Turkey and Istanbul. The weekend forecast calls for heavy downpours in the same areas of Turkey with the threat of new floods. The Ministry has opened an emergency hot line to provide more information about the situation in Turkey - 02 948 30 03.

In the mean time, the Turkish media reported that at least 32 people have been killed by the flooding, 26 of them in Istanbul while 8 people are missing. One of the victims is a Bulgarian citizen.
