The firm Klyunchev Ltd, the organizer of the excursion in which at least a dozen Bulgarian tourists died in an Ohrid Lake ship accident, did not have the right to organize a trip abroad.

According to Bulgaria's Deputy Economy Minister in charge of tourism, Ivo Marinov, Klyunchev Ltd is registered in the town of Dimitrovgrad as a transport firm.

This means that it is not a tourist operator, and does not have the right to organize excursions abroad, Marinov said. Klyunchev Ltd organized the trip to Macedonia without using the services of a tourist company.

Deputy Minister Marinov promised legislative changes as soon as possible in order to preclude such violations once and for all from now on.
