A 35-year-old Bulgarian man has been arrested in Switzerland during a deal for 14 kilos of heroin, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry reported Friday.

In an operation against an organized criminal group in the Swiss town, Bellinzona, three Serbians and a Swiss man were arrested along with the Bulgarian citizen. The arrests were made after a signal from the Bulgarian anti-mafia police, who worked with the Swiss police on the case.

The Bulgarian man, from Sofia, has not got a criminal record and was only noticed by the Bulgarian anti-mafia police during an operation to bust a drugs route from Turkey to Switzerland.

The organized criminal gang hid behind their legal business of transporting second hand cars from Western Europe. Swiss prosecutors have now charged the gang with drug smuggling.
