Bulgarian Drug Dealer Killed over Market in Black Sea Resorts

A 26-year-old Bulgarian man died after being beaten and stabbed in a drug gang revenge operation on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast.

The man, who is a native of the city of Stara Zagora, was taken to the emergency room in the Black Sea town of Primorsko but died there because of blood loss.

According to the head of the regional police directorate in the city of Burgas, Commissar Vasil Edrev, the killed man together with a 19-year-old accomplice of his invaded the drug distribution territory of an established gang in the southern Black Sea resorts, which sent a group of four men to punish them.

The two drug market "invaders" were first beaten by the revenge gang in the Black Sea resort of Kiten, and were then taken by cars to a forest between Primorsko and Tsarevo, where the 26-year-old man was stabbed in his thigh, and were abandoned there. The accomplice of the killed drug dealer took him to the emergency room but in vain. This happened between 1 am and 2 am Wednesday.

Shortly after that the Burgas police managed to arrest all four gangsters from the revenge group after the surviving younger drug dealer initially refused to cooperate with them but eventually told them he knew one of the attackers.

The four attackers are from Burgas and Primorsko; they were arrested in their apartments where the police found some of the belongings of their victims, guns, and small quantities of drugs. One of them has already served a sentence for a murder that he committed before turning 18.

The police are yet to figure out the roles that each of the attackers played as well as which drug cartel exactly they worked for.
