Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, opened Monday in Sofia the largest construction hypermarket on the Balkan Peninsula.

The hypermarket is the fourth store in the country of the Austrian chain bauMax, which already has stores in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, and Burgas - all in the south of Bulgaria.

The store is located on the Vladimir Vazov Blvd in Sofia, and is part of the Vazov Trade Park. It has a total area of 16 000 square meters.

bauMax intends to have opened a total of 20 hypermarkets in Bulgaria by 2015. Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, wished the Austrian company to open more stores outside of Sofia because the capital attracted 75%-80% of all large-scale investments of the country.

He also made a wish that the Bulgarian Ministers would check out the prices in the large construction supermarkets in the country when they authorize repair and construction works in their institutions - a reference to the public procurement deals sealed by Ministers of the Stanishev government who were revealed to have paid excessive prices for that type of service.
