People celebrate outside the Biffi's Cafe where the winning ticket for the SuperEnalotto was bought for two euros by an as yet unknown punter in Bagnone, Tuscany region, Italy on 22 August 2009.

The people of Italy's Bagnone, Tuscany Region, have celebrated in the streets the win of the record jackpot of the SuperEnalotto lottery by a resident of the town.

Last night it became clear that a Bagnone resident has won the largest jackpot in European history - EUR 147,8 M (about USD 210 M), the Corriere della Sera reported as cited by BTA.

The small town has about 2 000 inhabitants. The super jackpot was reportedly won by a 47-year-old local man working in the agriculture sector who guessed the six numbers from 1 to 90 from Saturday's draw with a ticket for EUR 2.

The SuperEnalotto jackpot is the largest lottery sum won ever by one person in the world. In 2007, the Megamillions lottery in the USA reached a jackpot of EUR 157 M but it was divided among nine people.

The town of Bagnone is known for growing a specific sort of violet onion.
