66% of all students come from outside of Bulgaria. Brazil is the most distant country with a representative in the new AUBG class. Other countries of origin of the new students are the USA, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Albania, Macedonia, Moldova.

About 35% of the freshmen have won scholarships, and 70% are getting some sort of financial aid.

In order to help freshmen's families with the cost of education in the time of crisis, the AUBG has decided to waive one-fifth of the first year tuition cost.
