The ruling GERB party is trying to discredit the previous Bulgarian Government in an attempt to hide their lack of readiness to govern the country.

The Former Bulgarian Transport Minister, Petar Mutafchiev stated so on Tuesday, as cited by Darik Radio.

In his words, there is an open slander campaign against the members of the previous cabinet, and the new government has the power to discredit whoever it wants.

Mutafchiev retorted the charges of misuse of funds in a deal with 30 refurbished train carriages, and stated that he himself requested an investigation of the case. The check up continued for two months, involving experts form the State Security Agency DANS, and no violations were found.
