The Bulgarian parties are wrong spending so much money on media commercials instead of organizing meeting and see their electorate in person.

This is the opinion of the political scientists, Evgeniy Dainov and Rumyana Kolarova, after statistics have showed that advertising in media consumes the biggest part of the parties' budgets and pre-elections expenditures.

"The parties are acting stupidly as spending their budgets for media commercials, because the voters prefer meeting, they want to see the politicians, to head them. If they are to lazy to do that, they can simply invest in local and regional newspapers and televisions, because they are more easily accepted by the people", Dainov commented.

In his words, the political class in Bulgaria has not yet grown up for such campaigns, except for GERB. The ruling party spent very little money and still held a lot of meetings, which combined with the the charisma of the party's leader, Boyko Borisov, led to their success.

The voters in the bigger cities are harder to be mobilized through political commercials in the newspapers or other media, Rumyana Kolarova commented. Meetings with electorate are as part og the agitation are more efficient, because politicians achieve more with less money.

This always true with parties which are on the way up, like GERB and MNSP in 2001, Kolarova added.
