Saxe-Coburg Was Ready to Become PM of Bulgaria in 1960

Bulgaria's former Tsar and Prime Minister in 2001-2005, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, first expressed readiness to become the Prime Minister of Bulgaria in a private conversation in March 1960.

This was revealed in an interview for Novinite.com by Alexenia Dimitrova, a Bulgarian journalist from the 24 Hours Daily who is the author of the book "The King's Secret Files".

"The King's Secret Files" is based on Dimitrova's research of 3 000 pages of declassified reports about Simeon Saxe-Coburg from the archives of the so called State Security - the omnipotent secret police and intelligence service of communist Bulgaria.

One other important finding of Dimitrova's book, which was published recently by the 24 Hours Daily, include the fact that at one point the Bulgarian political emigration pressured Saxe-Coburg to declare his first-born son Kardam the successor to the Bulgarian throne.
