Bulgaria Police Arrest Drunk Greek Man over Forged Euros

A drunk Greek citizen, who fell in front of the Regional Television Center in Plovdiv, dropped a bag containing EUR 52 600 of forged Euro banknotes.

The local Bulgarian police arrested the man and have confiscated the bag of money, containing 513 fake 100 and 200 Euro notes.

Local prosecutors have already started legal proceedings against the 47-year-old Greek man that could lead to him being jailed for 2-8 years.

The Greek Consul in Plovdiv, Dimitris Zisiadis, visited the scene but did not comment on the case.
