The European Commission report that is to be presented Wednesday shows obvious improvement in key fields, which is unfortunately insufficient.

The State Prosecutor, Boris Velchev, expressed his opinion prior to a conference regarding the EC report on justice and interior works, BGNES reported.

"The fact that through applying the mechanism for control and cooperation in the last 365 days, the European Commission establishes certain improvement in a number of key fields, in which such an improvement has not been made so far. All this means that the mechanism works properly", Velchev said.

In his words, this mechanism must be used until it gives positive results. If we follow the advises in the report, there will be even greater success in future, he added.

"The question, whether there is political pressure in the Prosecutor's Office, can be answered by each individual prosecutor, because each one is unique... Imagine that you work in a small town where everybody knows everybody else. Isn't this pressure?", he commented.
