Casualties of Crashed Air France Flight 447 Did Not Drown

A total of 640 pieces of debris from crashed Air France Flight 447 on 01 June 2009, arrive at Pauillac near Bordeaux and France, 14 July 2009, are to be transported to Airbus in Toulouse

The casualties of the plane crash of Air France Flight 447 that crashed into the Atlantic the night of May 31 did not drown.

The autopsies of the 50 bodies that were recovered from ocean have shown that drowning was not the cause of death of the passengers, BGNES reported.

These results of the autopsies, which were conducted in Brazil, were announced Friday in Paris by the commander of the gendarmerie of the French civilian aviation.

43 of the 50 bodies that were recovered were identified; 17 of these belonged to French citizens. The bodies of the plane commander and three crew members were also among them.

Earlier this week, debris from the plane were brought to France in order to be analyzed. The preliminary analyses by Brazilian experts showed that the plane crashed vertically into the ocean, and did not disintegrate in the air as was believe earlier.
