Bulgaria Double Murder Shooter Is Police Officer

The 30-year-old man who shot dead his 17-year-old girlfriend Wednesday night in the Bulgarian capital Sofia is a police officer.

Nikolay Krumov shot his girlfriend, Anna, with his service weapon, and then took his own life, Darik radio reported.

The bodies were found by the girls friend, Anna Kolarova, who got back home late in the night. She immediately called the girl's grandmother.

The incident took place in an apartment house on "Ami Bue" Str in the Krivata reka quarter around midnight Wednesday, the police said.

They lived in an apartment on the fifth floor, and her mother - on the seventh. The apartment, where the massacre took place, was rented by the victim and a friend of hers.

Colleagues of the 30-year-old policeman, Krumov, described him as a quiet and calm man, who had never been in a conflict with anyone.
