Bulgaria Cosmetics Producer Rubella with 25% Sales Growth in EU

The sales of Bulgarian cosmetics producer Rubella on the EU market have increased by 25% in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008.

More than half of all of the company's sales are in the EU (outside Bulgaria), and Rubella's products are distributed in leading retail chains like Carrefour, Tesco, Asda Wal-Mart, Wilkinsons, Intermarche, Schlecker, Etos.

"Over the last few years Rubella has restructured its business in accordance with the European norms of work, and has introduced contemporary standards and management. It has modernized the manufacturing, and has increased its labor productivity and energy efficiency", said Krasimir Mitev, CEO of Rubella, who presented the company's products before the media on Tuesday.

The company has about 900 different products including face and body cosmetics, hair color, oral hygiene products. Last week, Rubella was successfully went through an audit under the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard:2006.

Rubella is a regular participant in prestigious international cosmetics fairs such as Cosmoprof - Bologna, Italy; Private Label - Amsterdam, Netherlands; In cosmetics - Paris, France.

Rubella has a 35-year history, and is the largest Bulgarian cosmetics exporter to the EU, Asia, and the former Soviet Union states. Its name comes from the first syllable of the town of Rudozem (where its manufacturing facilities are located) and the Italian word "bella" ("beautiful").
