The two men who robbed a house, stole a car and shot a policeman on July 10 near the Bulgarian town of Svoge will remain in custody.

This is the decision of the Sofia District Court, announced Monday afternoon, Darik Radio reported.

Krasmir Dimov and Vladimir Nikolov made full confessions before a judge. Nikolov confessed that he shot at the policeman, Lybomir Mitov. The law foresees between 20 and 30 years in jail, or life sentence for such a crime.

Mitov was shot on the morning of July 10 in the Svoge area and was brought to the Military Academy Hospital in Sofia with two shotgun wounds, a broken jaw, torn liver and intestines. He had also suffered a significant blood loss.

At 6:04 am Friday a woman alerted the police that a luxurious jeep had been stolen close to the village of Bov. A police patrol was immediately sent to the scene and started chasing the car.

The ordeal started when the two thieves, who were later arrested by the police, broke into a house in Bov, beat up 2 women inside and stole BGN 1 500, before taking an expensive Lincoln SUV.

The car and house are owned by Krasimir Ivanov, a.k.a Krasi the American. The attackers were allegedly his ex-employees. Police later found a cross-bow and ammunition in the jeep that also allegedly belonged to Ivanov.
