The informal leader of GERB and Bulgaria's PM-to-Be, Boyko Borisov, is not going to endorse EC Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva, for a second term.

The leader of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party - winner in the general elections, and Mayor of Sofia, Borisov, spoke during the official opening of a new football field in Sofia's Gorni Lozen village.

Borisov reminded that 20 days ago Kuneva ran and was elected Member of the European Parliament.

Borisov's words came just hours after Bulgaria's EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, Meglena Kuneva, officially announced she decided to stay until the end of her Commissioner term in October, because this way she would serve Bulgaria better than going into the European Parliament (EP). She said she had appraised Boyko Borisov of her decision.

On June 7 Kuneva was elected Member of the EP (MEP) on the ticket of the National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NMSP) party. The NMSP of former Tsar and PM, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, suffered a crushing defeat in the July 5 general elections and failed to win any seat in the new General Assembly.

"Today we open a wonderful new facility for kids to play and exercise. The least thing I am interested in is what deals those from NMSP have concocted," Borisov said.
