Bulgaria's current Minister of European Affairs, Gergana Passy, has stated that not having a Minister of European Affairs in the next government will be a big loss for the country.

Passy said, "My party NMSP has always believed that it is important to have a European Affairs minister to deal with important tasks and to improve communication between Bulgaria and the EU."

She added that "as a result of the good work done Bulgaria has not had to pay even one Euro cent in fines to Brussels."

Passy concluded that GERB's decision to get rid of the European Affairs position was negative as it was "important to have a precise focus on European issues." She continued, "it is an important position to coordinate the European processes."
