Berisha's Ruling Democrats Win Albania Elections - Exit Poll

Albania's ruling Democratic Party of Prime Minister Sali Berisha have won Sunday's Parliamentary Elections.

An exit poll of Zogby International predicts that the Democrats would win 69 seats vs. 55 for the Socialist Party of Edi Rama, Mayor of the Albanian capital Tirana, BGNES reported.

Albania's Parliament has 140 seats, and if the exit poll results are correct, Berisha's party would 2 seats short of an absolute majority.

According to the reports, no major irregularities have occurred during the elections whose fairness has been seen as a major test for beginning Albania's integration with the EU by the West.
