The EC has not yet made a final decision about the exact date of the release of the monitoring reports on Bulgaria and Romania.

The information was announced Tuesday by the spokesperson of the European Commission, Mark Gray, in connection with Monday statements of Swedish EU Affairs Minister, Cecilia Malmstrom, who said the report on Bulgaria would be published in September.

Sweden has assumed the rotating EU Presidency from the Czech Republic, and will hold it from July 1 until December 31, 2009.

"I have been appraised of the Swedish EU Affairs Minister, Cecilia Malmstrom's, statement that it was possible the report on Bulgaria would come out in September. I cannot confirm this information. The EC mission in Romania is barley beginning now. The decision when the reports would be published has not been made. This is all I can say at this point," Grey pointed out, adding the decision would be announced sometime in the next two weeks.
