Bulgaria Current Account Deficit Shrinks Further

Bulgaria's current account deficit continued to shrink during the first four months of the year and stood at EUR 1,069 B or 5% of GDP at the end of April 2009 year-upon-year, official data showed on Wednesday.

The deficit, which is Bulgaria's key economic concern, amounted to EUR 2.77 B or 8% of GDP during the same period a year ago, the central bank announced.

Foreign direct investments, which data set at EUR 955.4 M or 2,8% of GDP, covered 56,5% of the current account gap at the end of April 2009.
