The Pazardzhik District Court granted Tuesday full parental rights to the parents of the murdered Belneyski sisters over their foster child, 5-year-old Maria.

The session was held behind closed doors.

In the beginning of the year, Fani and Stoimen Belneyski applied to adopt Maria, who before becoming their foster child, lived in an a Pazardzhik orphanage. Maria has been in their foster care for a year and a half.

The decision can be appealed in a 7-day period before the Plovdiv Appellate Court

Sisters Rositsa (18) and Kristina (15) Belneyska went missing in January 2006, after leaving a disco bar in the town of Pazardzhik. The sisters were found dead at the beginning of February near the town of Peshtera.

The case remains unsolved. Three years after the murder, among raging forensic controversy and the unexplained death of Bulgaria's most renowned coroner, the 29-year-old prisoner from Pazardzhik, Lazar Kolev, became the prime suspect in the case.

His lawyer, Martin Markovski, claims the DNA analysis proved nothing, and authorities do not have any evidence against his client.

On Monday, Fani Belneyska voiced her outrage with the Bulgarian TV channel bTV over their reality show "Psychics", which included an episode dedicated to unraveling the girls' murder and footage of the investigation.

The mother is indignant over the fact that the producers had not warned her about airing the episode and says she went into a shock after seeing the show.
