The voter turnout in Bulgaria during the upcoming July 5 parliamentary elections is expected to hit 55% to 58%, according to the polling agency "Alfa Research."

The data was announced Friday by the agency's Director, Boryana Dimitrova, in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television channel BNT.

The 58% or 3 800 000 voter turnout would be about 20% more than the European Parliament elections on July 7.

According to "Alfa Research", the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) has a significant reserve for the local elections because Bulgarian citizens, living in Turkey, have the right to cast a ballot for national Parliament.

Dimitrova further said that the "Coalition for Bulgaria" and its main partner, the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will also enjoy a higher turnout, adding the most crucial question mark was the distribution of the remaining 11% to 12%.

Dimitrova offered two possible versions - the voters to unite around the rightist, opposition Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party and the Blue Coalition or to scatter the vote for smaller political formations.

In addition, experts from the other polling agency "Sova Harris" say that the ruling National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NMSP) and the opposition LIDER have reached their maximum potential at the EP elections while the other opposition formation "Order, Law and Justice" could expect a higher voter turnout.
