The Chair of the Central Electoral Commission, Biser Troyanov, has assured Wednesday that the final MEP Elections results can be trusted.

In an interview for "NOVA" TV he said that there could be no doubt in the results accuracy.

"If the parties want the votes to be counted again we can give them all the piles of tickets, and they may do it on their own. It will take them at least six months...", Troyanov said.

On Tuesday, the Blue Coalition and the LIDER coalition submitted an official request demanding a second count of the EP election ballots.

CEC denied their request, because such a procedure was not foreseen by any law.

"There are more than 11 600 electoral sections. There may be more than 1 000 ballots in each one, because it is formed on each 1 000 people... There may be more than one ballot in an envelope, and the fault one must be separated... While the votes are being counted, there are supervisors from all the political parties that take part in the elections. They would see if there was something wrong. The results must be trusted", TrРѕyanov explained.
