Bulgaria Announces Regional Results from EP Elections

Results have started to come in from across Bulgaria after Sunday's European Parliament Vote in which the popular opposition GERB party of Sofia mayor Borisov dominated with 24,48% of the ballots.

In the Shumen district the Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) won the majority of the votes:

DPS:31,5%, GERB: 19,62%, Coalition for Bulgaria:16,7%, Ataka:12,62%, NMSP: 7,27%, LIDER: 3,49%.

In the Haskovo region GERB came out on top with over 20% of the vote:

GERB: 23,1%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 18,8%, DPS: 17,7%, Ataka: 14,89%, LIDER:6,98%, NMSP:6,62% and the Blue Coalition: 4,03%.

In the Kyustendil district the ruling Coalition for Bulgaria scored a victory:

Coalition for Bulgaria: 26,22%, GERB:22,23%, LIDER: 15,71%, NMSP:9,01%, Blue Coalition: 7,28%, Ataka: 7,10%, DPS: 1,18%.

In the Veliko Tarnovo district GERB were the strongest party with over 25% of the vote:

GERB: 25,95%, Coalition for Bulgaria:18,84%, Ataka:14,56%, DPS:10,36%, NMSP: 7,59%, RZS: 7,57%, Blue Coalition: 6,66%, LIDER: 3,54%.

In the Burgas region Ataka dominated this year's EP elections with over 20% of the vote:

Ataka: 21,16%, GERB: 20,46%, DPS:18,46%, Coalition for Bulgaria; 14,53%, LIDER: 5,97%, NMSP: 5,63%, Blue Coalition: 5,27%.

DPS won the Razgrad district as expected with over 50% of the vote:

DPS: 58,11%, GERB: 13,34%, Ataka: 10%, BSP: 8,44%, NMSP: 3,59%, Blue Coalition: 2,38%.

In the Turgovishte region DPS won by a large distance with BSP second and GERB third.

In the Blagoevgrad district over 20% voted for GERB:

GERB: 24,29%, DPS: 18,46%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 12,5%, Ataka: 8,8%, Blue Coalition: 7,98%, RZS: 7%.

In the Varna region GERB claimed an overwhelming success with over 25% of the EP vote:

GERB: 26,15%, Ataka: 15,06%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 14,99%, DPS: 10.79%, NMSP: 9,52%, LIDER: 7,39%, Blue Coalition: 6,63%, RZS: 4,51%.

In the district containing Bulgaria's second largest city, Plovdiv, GERB were victorious:

GERB:25%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 21,5%, Ataka: 15,17%, DPS: 13,94%, Blue Coalition: 7,21%, NMSP: 5,54%.

Sofia Mayor, Boyko Borisov's party GERB won the Dobrich district in a close race:

GERB: 21,96%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 20,21%, Ataka: 16,69%, DPS: 14,08%, NMSP: 6,07%, LIDER: 4,28%, RZS: 4,28%, Blue Coalition: 4,23%.

The Vratsa district was won by the socialist Coalition for Bulgaria led by PM Sergey Stanishev:

Coalition for Bulgaria: 27,02%, GERB: 23.2%, Ataka:12,17%, NMSP: 11,71%, LIDER:8,29%, Blue Coalition: 5,75%.

In the Gabrovo region GERB were victorious by some distance:

GERB:30,64%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 18,25%, Ataka:14,35%, NMSP:10,09%, Blue Coalition: 6,97%, DPS: 6,82%, LIDER: 4,48%.

In the Ruse region GERB also dominated coming in ahead of the Coalition for Bulgaria and Ataka, with DPS fourth.

In the Pleven district GERB fought off the Coalition for Bulgaria to claim victory:

GERB: 22,79%, Coalition for Bulgaria:21,19%, Ataka: 16,79%, Blue Coalition: 8,61%, LIDER:5,06%, NMSP: 6,68%, DPS: 6,35%.

GERB dominated the EP elections in the Sliven region:

GERB: 29,04%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 20,04%, Ataka: 13,4%, DPS:9,83%, LIDER: 7,67%, NMSP: 6,62%, Blue Coalition: 5,21%.

The socialist Coalition for Bulgaria won the Yambol district just ahead of GERB:

Coalition for Bulgaria: 26,75%, GERB: 24,16%, Ataka: 15,76%, Ataka: 15,76%, NMSP: 9,13%, Blue Coalition: 4,85%, DPS: 2,69%.

The ethnic Turkish party DPS dominated the Kurdzhali district EP elections as expected:

DPS: 68,98%, GERB: 11,15%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 7,45%

GERB have emerged victorious in the Stara Zagora region EP elections:

GERB: 24,91%, Coalition for Bulgaria: 21,99%, Ataka: 14,94%, LIDER: 8,08%, NMSP: 7,54%, Blue Coalition: 7,28%, RZS: 5,52%, DPS: 4,96%.
